My friend crashed her car in a recent storm. She immediately filed a claim, however it took an adjuster 10 days to come look at her car! By this time the car had rusted in the damage area. They deemed it a total loss. Today she is dealing with an investigation. They are trying to hassle her about the damage saying because its rusty it appears to be pre-existing damage, when in fact it’s not. What should she do and why is her own insurer treating her so poorly like she’s a criminal? (more…)
Darwin had quite a claim for diminished value on an 2012 INFINITI G37 after being plowed into from behind by a Budget Rental truck.
His damages were quite severe and he had an attorney for his injury but wasn’t sure how to get paid for the lost value he incurred after an accident that was no fault of his own.
After about two months, he won his case and walked away knowing he wouldn’t take a huge hit when he goes to trade in his wrecked INFINITI.
Today I was reading an email from Soul Pancake and if you aren’t subscribing to their emails, you’re missing out on some beautiful work! Soul Pancake was created by Rainn Wilson and a creative team he works with – their website is a beautiful compilation of awesomeness that is smart, inspirational and witty and warms the heart strings! They are famous for creating Kid President and other gems like the short videos featured on OWN that show what it is to be human and it makes you remember to find beauty in our every day world and reconnect to each other.
One of my FAVORITE videos Soul Pancake has made is “Take A Seat” featuring strangers sitting in a ball pit asking questions to get to know each other. It is a great reminder that we’re not so different from all the folks we pass on the street every day.

2012 Audi A6 Quattro 3.0 Premium Plus – over $7300 in DV won!

Scott’s Audi A6 Diminished Value case is the kind we love to talk about!
After an auto accident, he was lucky enough to have a professional on his side in the repair industry who mentioned diminished value to him and sent him our way.
We took a look at his case and he was definitely owed a substantial amount of diminished value on his clean 2012 Audi A6 Quattro Premium Plus and hired us after a quick consultation.
As the marketing director, I do a lot of search term and keyword research to make sure auto accident victims find us when they do their research online and recently I saw a couple of searches asking “is diminished value a scam” and even searching “petty details scam”. For a moment, I was almost mad at the computer seeing our name paired with the word “scam” because of how passionate we are about our work but then I realized – they’re just like me! I know I would be searching that same thing if we were thinking of hiring expert help in a very niche-y subject such as diminished value from someone online. (more…)
First off, I just want to say that we get a lot of calls from irate folks who think we are CCC because this article pops up high in searches for CCC. We have lots of funny interactions with accident victims where the conversation starts out with a full-on blow out argument! lol
Let’s be clear – we are not CCC! We are appraisers who help consumers when they get a low valuation from companies like CCC (there are others as well). Just wanted to get that out there to set the record straight since so many folks are finding this article useful (and to prevent screaming matches and the therapy sessions that then have to follow :)).
If your vehicle has been deemed a total loss, many insurance companies will rely on a company called CCC (that is not US lol) to provide a market evaluation on the value of your vehicle to act as a settlement tool. CCC (Certified Collateral Corporation) Information Services Inc. is a company that provides vehicle value reports to insurance companies. They utilize their own methods and develop a value for your vehicle that is supposed to be reflective of the actual cost of a replacement vehicle in the market where your vehicle would have been sold, had it not been totaled.
So you’ve been doing all this research on diminished value, and you’ve figured out that the at fault party’s insurance company should pay you for the lost value your car has suffered, right? The only problem is that you got a diminished value claim denial by the insurance company. Although it may make you want to rip your hair out, don’t get discouraged! It is very common for insurance carriers to deny diminished value claims as a tactic to weed out those victims who will be frustrated enough to just give up on their claim. They use this tactic because the sad fact is that most people DO give up. You know why? Forcing an insurance company to be fair is HARD! Also, there is generally nobody to help accident victims with their small value property damage claims and insurance companies know it. So where does that leave you? Is there any hope of recovering your lost value? Read on my friend, read on. . . . (more…)
We know you’ve heard the saying “The eyes are the window to the soul” and this artist used colored pencils to help us visualize just that.
We follow a blog called Colossal because they focus on the details that make things really beautiful in our life and today’s post focused on Texas-based graffiti artist Redosking, who draws super-realistic images of eyes. The petty details are really what makes his art so beautiful – the pores of the skin, the eyelashes, the pictures within the eye. Check out Colossal’s blog post here with more drawings! See even more of his gorgeous work on his Instagram page – it’s worth a follow for sure! (more…)
Leo knew he had at least a small Fiat diminished value claim after minor damage to his new car. He found us to give him the evidence to fight without coming out of pocket hundreds of dollars!
Leo’s damages were under $2,000 so he didn’t want to invest a lot in his Fiat diminished value claim but the insurance company was willing to address the DV if he had an expert report. After looking at his claim, we valued it at about $1450 and helped him get a demand in front of the insurance company.
