The only way to remedy unethical and unfair behavior is to expose it to the entirety of victims that it affects in the hopes they will stand up to the bullies. It is a shame that those in power seem to have a propensity to abuse it (crony capitalism anyone?). To that end, I hope this article reaches many victims and their legal counsel, and that at least some of them take a stand with me and demand action from their representatives at the State.

During my auto claims career I have dealt with hundreds of claims that stemmed from the negligence of a commercial vehicle. In particular, three types of claims are most common: Claims involving rental vehicles, taxis, or small freight / towing truck companies. In most cases, if one of these commonly self-insured entities has caused you damage, then you’ll have a very difficult time recovering your damages.
I currently have a case on the books where my customer’s vehicle was damaged because a towing company failed to secure an item that was on the bed of a tow truck. The item fell off causing over $7K in damage and lost value to my client’s vehicle. The tow company’s risk manager told us that he would not pay for damages, and that my customer would have to sue. Then, he said if the customer won the suit, he still would simply never pay the judgment.
We know…its been a while since we last posted and there is good reason for that!

With our growth we face new challenges and work every day to perfect our processes and every new year gives us a chance to grow as humans and business owners. After sailing through our day as normal, something was pulling at me all day so Justin and I started discussing when we opened the business and pulled up our LLC Formation paperwork and low and behold, today was DEFINITELY a special day for us! We have put five long years of passion for helping auto accident victims into our very own entrepreneurial endeavor and started with little to our name and today is our happy happy birthday and we’re five years old!
There have been many changes over the years and, entering our sixth year, we have never felt better about the direction our business is taking us in. We are in a huge growth mode this year and unbelievably excited thinking of what the rest of 2014 and the next 5 years have in store for us! We are so thankful to great family and friends that have been there to support us and help us through the sometimes very stressful but rewarding mission we are on to change the industry we are in and get people the real help that is hard to come by. We believe Ghandi had it right when he said “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” and that has brought us the most reward doing what we love…together….without killing each other…. haha
Through the years of being a couple, Justin and I have shared some hearty, gut-busting laughs at the expense of others or each other (mostly Justin laughing, me getting scared) through scares and startles and we have passed that love down to our dear son. This morning, Justin got a great laugh at my expense again during a short meeting and that inspired me to make scares & startles the Petty Details we love for our post today!
