Happy Birthday to US!

Happy Birthday!

WE’RE FIVE YEARS OLD TODAY!

After sailing through our day as normal, something was pulling at me all day so Justin and I started discussing when we opened the business and pulled up our LLC Formation paperwork and low and behold, today was DEFINITELY a special day for us!  We have put five long years of passion for helping auto accident victims into our very own entrepreneurial endeavor and started with little to our name and today is our happy happy birthday and we’re five years old!

There have been many changes over the years and, entering our sixth year, we have never felt better about the direction our business is taking us in.  We are in a huge growth mode this year and unbelievably excited thinking of what the rest of 2014 and the next 5 years have in store for us!  We are so thankful to great family and friends that have been there to support us and help us through the sometimes very stressful but rewarding mission we are on to change the industry we are in and get people the real help that is hard to come by.  We believe Ghandi had it right when he said “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” and that has brought us the most reward doing what we love…together….without killing each other…. haha

 Here’s to the next 5 years and making some real change, authentically and with a purpose!

Facts that sound like lies but are TRUE!

Today I was reading an email from Soul Pancake and if you aren’t subscribing to their emails, you’re missing out on some beautiful work!  Soul Pancake was created by Rainn Wilson and a creative team he works with – their website is a beautiful compilation of awesomeness that is smart, inspirational and witty and warms the heart strings!  They are famous for creating Kid President and other gems like the short videos featured on OWN that show what it is to be human and it makes you remember to find beauty in our every day world and reconnect to each other.

One of my FAVORITE videos Soul Pancake has made is “Take A Seat” featuring strangers sitting in a ball pit asking questions to get to know each other.  It is a great reminder that we’re not so different from all the folks we pass on the street every day.

Facts that sound like lies, but are TRUE!

Now onto the reason I made this post!  What I loved that I found in the SoulPancake email today was this list from Buzzfeed titled “77 Facts That Sound Like Huge Lies But Are Actually Completely True” which had tons of really funny, outlandish facts that were amusing to read.

Some of our favorites are:

– If you put your finger in your ear and scratch, it sounds just like Pac-Man.

– Vending machines are twice as likely to kill you than a shark is.

– Armadillos nearly always give birth to identical quadruplets.

– Betty White is actually older than sliced bread.

The Eyes Are The Window To The Soul…

We know you’ve heard the saying “The eyes are the window to the soul” and this artist used colored pencils to help us visualize just that.

We follow a blog called Colossal because they focus on the details that make things really beautiful in our life and today’s post focused on Texas-based graffiti artist Redosking, who draws super-realistic images of eyes.  The petty details are really what makes his art so beautiful – the pores of the skin, the eyelashes, the pictures within the eye.  Check out Colossal’s blog post here with more drawings!  See even more of his gorgeous work on his Instagram page – it’s worth a follow for sure!
