Our Expert Help

Full USPAP Appraisal

Cost: $350.00

Our full appraisal is for clients who have a diminished value claim that is around $3500 and up.

This appraisal is all the evidence you need to make your claim and it comes with guidance through the process so you’re never lost.

Our appraisals are certified under the USPAP (see uspap.org) and we never use fake certifications or made up groups to bolster our resume.

We are experts, and we can prove it!

DV Range Report

Cost: $200.00

This report is not a full appraisal, but a report that shows a high and low range where your DV will fall to get the negotiations going.

This is best used on a low claim or a claim where you already have an offer on the table but want to bolster your demand with an expert opinion.

This report also comes with limited guidance through the process so you can navigate through it smoothly!

We work as a team hand in hand with you to help you cut through the bull!

So, how does the demand process work?

Stage 1: The Demand Process

In Stage 1, you have two options.

  1. Use our free sample demand letter to make a free demand for a low value claim or because you want to see what they say before you pay for an appraisal
  2. Purchase an appraisal to get cut to the chase and get a formal demand made with some evidence!

If you want to get the best evidence and expert help on your claim without delay, all you have to do is say the word!

We produce the appraisal and sample initial demand letter so that you can make a your first formal demand to the responsible insurance company.

That process can take up to 7 business days (more on exotics/classics/specialty vehicles) but we always try to turn it around faster for you and we succeed most of the time!

After the demand has been sent, the insurance company needs to be contacted to confirm that they have received the demand.

Once the adjuster’s information (name, phone number, email, fax, and supervisor) and receipt of demand has been confirmed,  you should be expecting a written response or an offer from the adjuster.

Give them about 5-10 business days to respond and we would suggest you check in every 2-3 days until you have something in writing from them.

It will most likely be a low offer or a denial and that will be the next turning point in your claim process.

If you haven’t gotten evidence to prove your claim, do you want to continue to pursue it?

If so, formal proof is the next step and an appraisal is the only accepted method of proving value on a vehicle and we can help with that!

Once you have the first offer or written response, send it to [email protected] so we can review it and help you with next steps.

What are you waiting for???

OK maybe you want to know what you can expect from us and what NOT to expect so here goes!

What exactly are you are getting from Petty Details, LLC when you pay for appraisal services?

1. An Appraisal!

The appraisal is developed and reported upon using a guide known as the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.  We use these standards and guide because they are the only ones known that have been authorized for use by the Congress of the United States.  The standards were developed by professional appraisers throughout the world and are reviewed and revised periodically by The Appraisal Foundation in order to make sure they remain current with a changing world.

The appraisal that we produce is a reflection of the most probable dollar figure for all conclusions.  No one appraiser can guarantee their appraised value conclusion will be realized upon an actual sale.  In other words, appraisers cannot predict the future, but they should be properly trained to guess very accurately by using a consistent scientific method in evaluating past sales and trends and collecting data from within the applicable market segment, and relevant consumers and sellers.

2. Help with navigating the insurance claims process.

In addition to the formal appraisal, we urge you to contact our office for direction if you get stuck during the claims process. Our staff is highly experienced in claims administration, and we offer some limited assistance with claims administration for consumers, attorneys, and carriers alike.  We strive to be valuable beyond the product we get paid to produce.

3. Phone and email access to a true expert.

Because we stand behind our product, once you have an appraisal, you will have access to an industry expert who can answer any technical question related to your appraisal which may come from adjusters, appraisers, attorneys or Judges.  Simply call or email and we will respond as fast as possible.

4. A trial witness.

With every appraisal, the expert who has performed the appraisal will attend any trial and testify in support of the appraisal.  Unless agreed to otherwise in writing by the vehicle owner, the cost is limited to just reasonable travel expenses.  Many times, testimony can be done telephonically.

5. Official conference calls.

If you need to have an expert explain the appraisal to someone else who is part of the claim, then simply email or call into our office and schedule a time to conduct a conference call.

6. Information and more.

As a customer, we will make sure we provide you with relevant access to our sample letter and legal library.  We house a vast digital library that contains thousands of articles, cases, sample letters, and legal forms.  If all else fails, we can refer you to an attorney who will review your legal options with you.

What exactly do you NOT get from Petty Details when you pay for appraisal services?

 1.  Someone to make calls for you and negotiate a settlement on your claim (you have to do that).

We cannot make calls for you, but we can schedule conference calls with you.

2.  Legal advice.

We are not attorneys.  We cannot give you legal advice or tell you whether or not to sue somebody.

3.  Settlement advice.

We cannot tell you when to settle your claim.  We only measure the value of your car and report it.

4.  A claims representative.

We cannot manage your claim for you.  We can tell you how to manage it, and help you, but we cannot represent you and/or manage your claim for you.

5. Any Bull.

You get the truth from us whether it makes us money or not so you can rely on us. We don’t make grandiose promises that can’t possibly be fulfilled or guarantees that no one can uphold.

We charge fairly for our services and give freely of our time to help you the best we can, whether that be a letter from your expert or a referral to an attorney.

To wrap it up with a bow, we are expert appraisers – that is all we charge for and the only official service we provide.

Can your expert say this? Make sure of it!

We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice, settlement advice, or official representation in any capacity.

We will however, help you in any way we legally can to make sure that you get the most value out of the appraisal we produce.
